Even though the ending implied that they repeated the same cycle of forcing out their memories of one another, I found it so beautifully real and human that they fought their way back to each other every single time. We all make mistakes in life, and often wish that they never happened in the first place. But those mistakes are exactly what makes us human: they serve as proof that we really are alive. That's exactly what Clementine and Joel were: a mistake. Not as in they should have never happened, but that their struggle and heartbreak over one another was what made them start living. So what do we take away? Embrace every bump in the road; every thorn on the rose; every break in your heart. Because what is life, if not lived?
