I had a closet like this, the space was awkward and stuff was hard to get to. We expanded the bedroom, great decision!

I would get rid of the extra closet space it’s really hard to get in there to utilize it to the fullest potential. You’re better off using shelves or dressers for storage or making built ins if furniture doesn’t work in that space.

Expand the bedroom! We had something similar in the primary bedroom in our 1935 home and we opened it up. the ceiling slope was low, but fit our headboard, nightstands, lamps and accent mirrors perfectly. It made for such a cozy layout.
