@nutritionbyliz: If there’s one thing decades of nutrition research—and real life—have taught me, it’s this: lasting health isn’t built on extremes. It’s built on habits you can repeat. Here are 5 doable, sustainable lifestyle behaviors you can focus on ⤵️ 1️⃣ Add more nourishing foods (deprivation is out): Instead of asking “What should I cut out?” try “What can I add?” More fiber-rich beans, fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and fatty fish like salmon support heart, gut, and brain health—and naturally crowd out less nourishing choices. 2️⃣ Move your body every day: Daily movement matters more than the occasional intense workout. Walking, strength training, balance work, stretching—it all counts and supports longevity, mobility, and metabolic health. Add it to your calendar so you stick with it. 3️⃣ Be mindful of portion sizes: Portion awareness helps support energy balance without rigid food rules. 4️⃣ Cook more meals at home: Home-cooked meals are consistently linked to better diet quality. Simple ingredients, familiar recipes, and repeatable meals go a long way (and yes—I share lots of recipes on my site). 5️⃣ Reduce—or eliminate—alcohol: Even small reductions can benefit sleep, cardiometabolic health, and long-term disease risk. Less really is more here. If you drink, the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines recommended no more than 1 drink a day for women and no more than 2 for men. ✨ The big picture: Better health and longevity are built through small, realistic habits done consistently—not perfection. 👉 Save this post if you’re setting health goals for 2026, and tell me in the comments: which one are you working on first? #longevity #healthyaging #nutrition #fiber #muscles
