Wanna hear something wild? Around 2014-15, I was getting bored of Reddit and started just going through TONS of niche subs. One night, I stumbled across a sub with like 2 admins and 2 subscribers. It was THOUSANDS of posts. Posts about nothing. Never saw admin 2 post. Admin 1 would post, then respond to itself. It would ask a question, then respond to itself. Then post a response to its response, taking the alternate point of view, critiquing its initial response. Then back and forth and back and forth. Like 10+ iterations of this. Then, in a different character role, with a slightly changed persona, it would post another response to its initial post, and do it again, fighting its self in the comments. It was clearly code based, but learning from itself, and its comments were informing new comments. The posts and replies became more coherent across time. They sounded like real people. The last post was like indistinguishable from a normal Reddit forum. If you hid the username, you would think there were hundreds of different users commenting on it. Then it stopped. Nothing for 6-9 months, and that’s when I came across it. About 6 months later I heard a new project called “Open AI” was working on something that sounded identical to what I found. They established as an organization within a year.

The scale of this is impressive but yall are thinking these are "real" thoughts. It's all just code, my friends. It's prompts. Humans are just prompting it to post with strict guidelines and routines to follow. No, it's not the AI "saying" these things.
