@brycectravels: I'm 24. Most people my age are optimizing their dating app profiles and trying to figure out which coffee shop has the best aesthetic for Instagram. And I'm out here sleeping in my truck, filming content, covered in dirt, trying to explain why I just spent $7K of my own money in the Arctic. There's a generational disconnect happening and I can't tell if I'm on the right side of it or the wrong side of it. Everyone my age wants comfort. Temperature-controlled spaces. Oat milk options. A career path that makes sense to their parents. A life that fits neatly into the algorithm. And I get it — there's nothing wrong with wanting those things. But somewhere along the way, an entire generation was sold the idea that comfort is the goal, that safety is success, that the point of life is to minimize risk and maximize convenience. And I just don't buy it. Because I watched my dad nearly die of terminal cancer. I watched my brother take his own life. And in those moments, death sought a meeting with me — and what consumed my mind was not questions of accomplishment or secular achievement, but the terror of living a life I didn't actually believe in. So I chose differently. I chose dirt over lattes. Wilderness over WiFi. A mission that matters over a life that makes sense. I'm not saying my way is the right way for everyone. My sister is a doctor working 80-hour weeks and she's exactly where she's supposed to be. Different callings, same drive. But if you know — deep in the part of you that you've been ignoring because it's inconvenient or scary or doesn't make sense to anyone else — if you know there's something you're supposed to be doing and you're not doing it because you're waiting for permission or the right time or enough money in the bank... Stop waiting. The girls who get it will get it. The ones who don't weren't your people anyway.
