My daughter had ear tubes placed when she was 5 because she couldn’t hear normal tones. She talked loudly and we always had to raise our voices so she could hear us. After the surgery, we left the hospital and got in the car. Out of nowhere my baby said, “Mommy… I can hear the birds.” 😳 I immediately started crying. 🥹 She looked at me and asked, “Mommy, why are you crying?” I told her, “Because the little things in life we take for granted. Mommy hears birds every day. For you to be 5 years old and just now hearing birds chirping for the first time… that’s a priceless moment.” I had so many emotions at once. Happy that her hearing was better, but also sad knowing she was 5 years old before she ever heard a real bird chirp outside of the TV. Mommy was crying happy tears. 🥹

my son had this problem he wasn't talking at 2 years old found out he needed tubes and we did speech therapy he caught up quickly and started talking within 8 months

yeah, my tubes are working on almost 30 years since they were put in.... I have the conversation about them still being there everytime I encounter a new doctor

Tubes saved my daughter! She had a bilateral ear infection for close to a year. Once she got her tube, TOTALLY different kid.

Here’s what they don’t tell you is that these holes don’t always heel it will cause loss of hearing loss cholesteatoma migraines supper hearing that leads to deafness. I have two out of three kids that had these complications.

I had a tube put in around 2006, i remember crying because my since teacher is the one who noticed something was wrong because my grades started falling because I couldn’t hear, I didn’t tell anyone I couldn’t hear because I was embarrassed, but once she asked me I started bawling. She called my mom and within two days I got the tube and immediately everything was better, took about a year for it to fall out but everything went well.
