@miranda.beacon: My postpartum story carries a lot of feeding trauma. I believed in breastfeeding at all costs. From the very first latch attempt, I knew something was off, but I didn’t know what to do instead. I left the hospital with a baby who couldn’t latch, and no idea what was normal or not. Cue the late nights. The night before our pediatrician follow-up, we were up all night. And I mean all night. We slept less than an hour. She was latched constantly…and getting nothing. I remember sitting in the dark, exhausted, panicked, feeling like I was the only mom awake desperately trying to help her baby eat. I’ll keep sharing more of this stor, and how it worked out in the end. But for now, I just want to say this: If you’re struggling postpartum, especially through the sleepless nights, you are seen.
