@ampollo: The training you didn’t see 👇⁣ ⁣ Educating myself on physiological birth, reviewing labor positions and pushing techniques with my pelvic PT, breathwork + pelvic mobility in the ANDA app, carefully selecting my care team and discussing how we’d handle different situations so I could stay calm in the moment.⁣ ⁣ While strength training and cardio have benefits for mom & baby during pregnancy -⁣ ⁣ Training for pregnancy vs training for delivery are two different things.⁣ ⁣ During pregnancy, you want strong muscles that can support the load of your growing belly and provide stability to your joints.⁣ ⁣ During delivery, you want RELAXED muscles which might not come naturally during the intensity of labor.⁣ ⁣ Does this mean you shouldn’t strength train during pregnancy?⁣ ⁣ No.⁣ ⁣ But it does mean that you should balance that strength training with breathwork, mobility, and an awareness of what it takes to keep labor progressing.⁣ ⁣ #pregnancy #pregnancytips #pregnancyjourney #pregnancyfitness

Just letting yall know it’s genetics as well so if your training and you don’t have a quick birth that’s normal too

I had terrible pelvic pain while pregnant and had to give up all exercise, could barely walk. I had a super fast and speedy labour! You get what you get, exercise doesn’t determine your birth experience.

I think it's more about the type of training & exercises because I know ladies thst weight train before & during pregnancy & had 30 something hour labours & some even had to have c section. So I'm guessing it's really individual to afew factors. But so happy you had a heat birth experience, we hope that mkre women get to experience that 🥰

Mine was so quick my midwife did not make it.. either did paramedics/EMS. I delivered her myself. I also did not workout a day during my pregnancy. Ladies, don’t believe that you need to be in crazy shape to deliver quick.

Worked out my entire pregnancy, ate the dates, drank the raspberry tea, did the miles circuit, and still had a 50h+ active labour 😅 Genetics and anatomy play a huge role in the length of labour too!

I remember my oldest boy telling me that his brother will come “in 4 hours”. I just rolled my eyes because there were absolutely no signs yet. Turns out, he was right 😳

When I had my first baby I was 22, didn’t work out at all, had a first degree tear, almost had a C-section, and gained 50+lbs. w my second I worked out the whole pregnancy, pushed for less than 2 hours, NO tear, only gained 40lbs, recovered so fast, and my mental health is sm better. Working out makes a difference!!!

And the recovery was probably phenomenal too. I had fantastic labor/birth experiences (first l pushed for 15 minutes and second I was 7cm dilated and didn’t know then pushed for 2 minutes) but my recovery was awful because I didn’t stay in shape during pregnancy and I’m paying for it now because I can’t get back in shape
