yes it goes down in a day , but you still need to clean up the big mess which takes time . Breaking it down the floor by floor which you can recycle all the material which makes more sense to me .

40 storey tower takes 6 months with japan method but with explosives, yes it takes a day only, however with planning(4-5 months) preparation(2-4 months) and sorting/cleaning(6-8 months)of debris this will take 12-17 months
