@mtn.alice: I don't expect many people to watch this video all the way through but I made it for people who are curious about my view on politics! In short, I tend to be left leaning but strongly believe in nonpartisan and bipartisan political efforts. In fact, I'll be an ambassador for a nonpartisan org this year, and I can't wait to share more soon!!! If I had to rank it, my top 3 issues rn are tribal sovereignty, immigration rights and protecting public lands. As a content creator I believe I have the ethical responsibility to plant seeds of hope and optimism, and encourage coming together as one. I don't like content that encourages further division, and I am extremely sensitive to violence--I don't celebrate or encourage it on my platform. I still have my angry moments and certain groups (like 🧊) that I have a lot of disgust toward, but I unpack it with my friends and loved ones instead of putting it on the internet because I just don't think that's the role I want to play here on this platform. While the younger rebellious version of me is pouting that I'm not as radical as I once was, I am happy with the radically sensitive and loving version of myself that I have grown into.

I also grew up in a very liberal bubble/majority immigrant neighborhood, and only became more open to hearing the other side when I worked for the house of reps and interacted with them every day. The same thing happened for me. I truly believe that the only way to move forward is my working with people we don’t agree with, and if we are exclusionary toward folks who are weary about the president, they will feel weary about us too!!

I love visiting whitefish but the politics are such a turn off for me. Same with Boise. Have you looked into Richard Spencer and the history of him and white supremacy in the Flathead area? I think locals ran him out thank god. I hope Montanas history of valuing public land access helps turn the political tides!!

I'm trying to find better ways to stay human. the Internet foments so much brainrot, including in my own head. seeing people face to face and developing real world relationships seems like a good antidote

This is one of the more interesting videos you’ve made (and that’s not a diss on your other content) understanding where your perspective comes from is fascinating. I admire how willing you are to be open to others perspectives.

I lived in A2 for couple of years and it seemed less liberal than Portland and Seattle.

I’m from MI too, I do agree where you live in the US shapes your political view and I admire the notion of having conversations with those with opposing views. I am trying to get over my own biases so even starting those convos is tough but thank you for sharing this!

I grew up in a quite liberal household in suburban Utah and my childhood best friend now works in environmental policy at the state level. My personal beliefs are super radical, but I very much agree that non partisan and bi partisan politics are so so important.

Im also from MI, north of Detroit which is more red leaning, and I hate to say it but most republicans I know are not maga, and by clumping them all together we do push them closer to maga. Bunch of nuance there ofc but yea idk it’s a thing.
