"some people don't want to get married" that's not the point. she didn't say "I never want to get married" she said "HE'S not what I want for a husband" she's not against marriage, she didn't love him. and she led him on for five years. as someone who has been in a relationship where I realized he wasn't the one, I broke up with him a YEAR in. there is no way that after all that time they never had a discussion of marriage and the future. she knew full well that he was going to want to marry her but let it drag on too long because she was either scared of finding someone new or because she liked having a boyfriend

In every relationship other than my now husband, I knew within the first few months that I didn’t want to marry them. So, I ended it. It’s a waste of someone’s time if you know they’re not the one. Marriage isn’t for everybody, but if after a 5 year relationship, neither of them knew what each other wanted, then that’s just bad communication.

I understand marriage isn’t the default for everyone but if you’ve developed a serious enough relationship to stay for 5 years then a form of commitment is the next stage ,Otherwise you’re just wasting that person’s time
