As someone who grew up in New England and has my own mental health issues, his music really captures a feeling of the seasonal depression (in the best way) that I feel like is only experienced there. I have since moved to multiple other states and it’s not the same empty feeling as in a small New England town in the early winter. I have never heard another artist who puts that feeling into song in this way.
