Demon: hopefully still at Area 15. 🕯️ Séance (20 minutes) was the closest of the three Darkfield experiences to Eternal for me, especially how the darkness and 360-degree sound can convince your brain that a mysterious, evil presence is right next to you. 🔮 A few things to know before you go to @Darkfield North America’s Zone 2 experiences at @AREA15 District: It takes place inside shipping containers and uses darkness, 360-degree audio/headphones, and other sensory effects depending on the show. Once the lights go out and the experience is underway, guests are told they cannot leave until it ends. Darkfield explained that moving through the container in darkness creates a safety hazard and opening the doors early would disrupt the experience for everyone else. If it becomes overwhelming, their guidance is to remove your headphones, close your eyes, and try to relax/rest until it ends. You have opportunities to opt out before entering and during the first few minutes before the lights go completely dark. Darkfield tries to keep the experience as completely dark as possible, so guests are asked to turn their phones completely off. I occasionally noticed tiny equipment/fire-system lights flickering in the darkness. Personally, having something to orient myself to gave me some peace of mind, although I can absolutely understand how someone else might find that breaks the illusion. I also painted my nails with glow-in-the-dark polish beforehand as my own tiny backup plan. I kept my hands balled into fists so I wouldn’t introduce light into the experience for anyone else, and ultimately never needed to use them, but knowing I could let my eyes adjust from the darkness to see my hands in front of me if I needed helped me relax. Also: excellent AC. Important information when someone asks you to willingly enter a shipping container in Las Vegas. 😂 These experiences, produced by @Realscape Productions, range from $20-$50. Other Experiences Currently at Darkfield at Area 15: ✈️Flight - between takeoff and landing, reality splits (25 minutes) 💊Placebo (formerly Coma) - a shared dream best experienced lying down (25 minutes) 👤 Invisible - a lesson in disappearujg into complete darkness from a guide who took it too far; currently listed as Coming Soon. I’ve heard September mentioned, but haven’t seen that date officially confirmed. Not sure whether Darkfield is for you? Their $6 at-home audio experience Eternal was how I tested the concept before going.
