Social media has completely changed what we think a “normal” life in Australia is supposed to look like 🇦🇺 Every week there’s a new phone, new outfit, new car, new furniture, new homewares, new restaurant, new holiday… And somehow, it can make you feel like you’re falling behind if you’re not constantly upgrading your life. But here’s the reality: I still wear the same T-shirts I’ve had for years 👕
I still use the same bed sheets 🛏️
I’m still using the same computer I’ve had for years 💻
And there are so many things I own that I have absolutely no intention of replacing anytime soon. Not because I can’t afford to. Because I don’t need to. I think we’ve forgotten that things are allowed to get old. Your clothes don’t need to be replaced every season.
Your furniture doesn’t need to match the latest trend.
Your phone doesn’t need to be upgraded every year.
And your life doesn’t need to look expensive to be a good life. Especially in Australia, where the cost of living is already so high 🇦🇺💸, learning to be happy with what you already have can make a huge difference. I’d rather keep the $100, $500 or $1,000 I could have spent upgrading something that was perfectly fine… and put it towards investing, travelling, experiences, or simply having more financial freedom. 💰🌏 You don’t have to participate in every trend. You don’t have to keep up with everyone online. And you definitely don’t have to spend money just to look like you’re doing well. Sometimes the biggest flex isn’t having more. It’s needing less. I’m sharing my journey of building wealth, living intentionally and figuring out how to enjoy life in Australia without feeling like I need to spend a fortune doing it. #sydney #australia #australian #aussie
