When SCOTUS ruled on recording in public it wasn't saying that if you had a camera you could stand on the street and record someone else home or business, harassment, recording their movement just cause you could. The ruling was in large part to enable actual reporters ,TV shows and to record and broadcast their work without having to obtain dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of signed releases by everyone who passed in front of the camera.
