@horserescue_sanctuary: On top of everything she’s already been through… we just got the test results back, and this sweet girl, Reilly (a temporary name for now), has strangles. We already follow very strict quarantine procedures, so our protocol remains the same (with the exception that she will not be housed with the other mare we brought in on Saturday). We experienced strangles in 2023, so most of our herd has already been exposed, but this does not change any part of our process. It’s devastating that she has already been through so much and is now facing this disease. 💔 The other two horses tested negative, but we remain cautious since they all came from the same place and were transported together.
