Solo ramen at Ichiran in Japan 🍜🇯🇵 I’ve heard so much about this popular Hakata style ramen restaurant - we’ve yet to have it open in London so after arriving into Sapporo late from Hakodate and seeing it was directly opposite my hotel, I went to give it a try! Famed for their rich tonkotsu broth, solo ramen dining booths and spicy red sauce, you can order and enjoy an entire meal without a single verbal interaction with the staff. You order via the ramen vending machine, customise it with a paper sheet and hand your ticket with the form to the staff (their faces are hidden behind the curtain). I opted for the tonkotsu broth with extra kikurage mushroom and dried seaweed. I looooved the spice level too and the fact it packed the heat! I loved the solo dining concept and the fact it’s such commonplace in Japan. Eat, slurp and go woohoo! This would be somewhere I’d frequent a LOT in London - fingers crossed for an opening there soon!
