Gu’s performance at the 2022 Beijing Games, where she became the first action-sports athlete to win three medals at a single Olympics, made her a global superstar. Since then, Gu, 22, has seemingly done it all: modeling at major events like the Victoria’s Secret show in New York City and Barcelona, while studying full-time at Stanford. “I’m a full-time student who’s really athletic,” says Gu. “I can have a conversation with a physicist and stand my ground, and I can also walk a runway show the next day.
