These comments are weird. Her mom seems ecstatic. If you give someone something, they get to decide how to use it. If you’re going to feel disrespected by that, either explicitly set the expectation or maybe you aren’t ready to give it to them.

I saved my wedding dress solely incase I have a daughter one day who wants to do something with it. Idc if she cuts it, paints it, whatever. The ONLY reason I have it still is incase she wants it for any reason.
