Ami :
The power went out that night, and the whole house felt wrong, like the darkness was heavier than usual. I woke up suddenly and at first I thought everything was normal, but when I tried to move, I couldn’t. My arms felt like they were weighed down, my legs wouldn’t respond, and it was like my whole body was trapped against the bed. Panic hit me instantly because I knew I was awake, but no matter how hard I tried, nothing moved. Then I looked into the corner of my room and saw a dark figure standing there, completely still, just watching me. My heart started pounding so hard I could hear it, and the room felt colder, like all the air had been sucked out. I wanted to run, but I was stuck inside my own body. I tried to call out for my brother, and my voice came out weak at first, but I kept saying his name over and over, louder each time, hoping he would wake up. The figure didn’t move, but it felt like it was getting closer, and the fear got stronger every second. I was terrified, so I started saying, “God… Jesus, please help me,” repeating it again and again because it was the only thing keeping me calm. Then I heard footsteps, and my brother rushed into the room and shined his flashlight on me. The second the light touched me, it was like invisible chains snapped off my body, and I could move again. I sat up fast, breathing hard and looking around, but the corner was empty. Nothing was there anymore, but I know what I saw, and for those few moments, it felt more real than being awake.
