Elizabeth E :
If you want a better seat PAY FOR IT like every other airline. You can’t just move your seat on any other airline.

The real question is why are there so many empty seats on Southwest flight lately?

How did ya’ll miss the girl’s point? She wasn’t trying to upgrade a seat, just thought it was funny everyone still clumped together with so many open seats.

I'm cackling at y'all missing the point. This isn't about upgrading. It's about moving a row behind or something in the same price point. 😂😂

Mind you, in a typical airline that always does assigned seating I’ve always been allowed to go sit in an empty row….

It’s so funny bc everyone use to cram in the front and we would be like SPREAD OUT!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣And all the rows from the exit row back would be empty and no one ever said anything. Now it’s opposite and everyone is freaking out 💀 bc yall can see it now. (On empty flights) has me dyinnngggggg🤭 but seriously I’m convinced it’s AI that is arranging the seats 🫠

Which at few people it’s about making sure the weight is balanced. Very important where you sit and that you’re either all in the middle or equally spaced. One time I gave the whole plane window seats 😂😂😂

Pay for it if you want to sit up front. You can also change your seat in app up to an hr before departure if it’s that important.

Not necessarily not all other airlines let you sit wherever you want if there’s open seats. Not anymore if you’re looking to upgrade your seat just because one is open they’re not gonna let you sit there for free.

Other airline do NOT allow you. Employees will break the rules sometimes but it’s not normal.

They let people move seats on my flight this past weekend but not until we were in the air and the new seat had to be on the same side. They stated it was for weight distribution.

Delta would have announced “we have lots of open seating, please see me if you would like to change seats” (before boarding).. and then they can still move u around and be mindful of the weight distribution.

I was told I couldn’t move from a middle seat to one of the multiple empty rows behind me because of “weight distribution” … like it wasn’t a problem two weeks ago when you could sit wherever you wanted? 😂

I was on a flight on New Year’s Eve a couple years back - with a whopping 16 people - they let us move seats for weight distribution in mind. To whatever seat was available 🤷🏼♀️we all had our own row. It was the best flight ever!

Here is where I complain about the United flight I was on where it wasn’t full (Covid) and all the free seats were taken so everybody was back of the plane and they had to rebalance it
