Why are you tipping someone that sets their own price and tells you EXACTLY what their time and service is worth? Do you tip the hvac guy that comes to fix your heat or a/c? Do you tip the lube tech that changes the oil in your car? Do you go to the kitchen at a restaurant and tip the cook/chef that actually cooks your food? Those are all service jobs too.

Go online to Booksy or TheCut. Find a barber in your city that has over 200 5 star reviews with a good reputation. It’s not the industry, it’s that specific barber.

I have had issues with barbers for the last 15 years since moving to New York. I finally have found good barbers in the BX. They are never late, and make sure I am happy with the results before I leave. A lot of barbers treat their clients like they are a burden or not a priority. It makes no sense. Wouldn’t you want to have REGULARS on your calendar instead of constantly looking for new clients?
