check the date codes but I believe the upr filter with the less amount of drain back holes is the older design..

Yes they all open at different buypass pressures if you have access to service info it will tell you 👍🏻

dig into 63E and 63F plus all the updated parts and the UPF. we dont see a lot of that UPF in the fleet world.

The filters were redesigned to flow more oil for the Diesel application that they cover. The newer style filter is superior to the old restrictive one.

since 63 do go on Duramax’s now maybe that’s why they redesigned it for better oil flow for diesels along with the newer engines

Filter material and they have a valve that prevents bleed off for the oil system so timing has oil pressure on start up to keep pressure on chains
