As an engineer who leads a department and is getting a grad degree- the way I’ve used it is to compress time it takes to learn. 100 page readings in different classes due in a week- ask ai to create as elaborate and detailed of a summary as possible so I can listen to it thrice and ask questions about several points within during car rides. At work, I lay out the design concept entirely and ask it to summarize my design content in words. Now because I have laid out the concept, I can correct it to write better. It has helped me cut time by atleast 35% so I can do a lot more.

How are people not checking what AI generates? I use AI only for coding and I explain what I want and then ask it not not generate the code and just to give me step by step the logic it will apply to create that code. I correct the code and then test and re test extensively. AI hallucinates data. People need to be very careful

AI has allowed the ideas in my head to become physically real at a pace I never thought was possible. I have learned and created more in the past 2 years than I have for the 50 before it. This is an observable fact.

AI gets us to good enough faster and so people leave it at that. I think this is a perceptual issue those who use AI and maintain the awareness that they themselves must be improving will outperform both groups in this trial imo

im a coder. I dont rely on AI to debug, unless, I take a human-in-the-loop approach. Debugging is going to hurt alot of people once the market is flooded with "vibe coding" apps that were created and just left to market.
