The internal conflict is the conflict, The whole film is Robert searching for a reason to live. He learns to find beauty in the mundane. There's a beautiful montage of his life towards the end of the film. It's the realization that life is tragedy, life is loss, life is joy, life is friendship etc. It's all of those things and that's what makes it beautiful.

It’s not the movie for you which is perfectly fine, I think the movie had a goal and a way of achieving it and did it very well! It told a story of grief and inbetween that, it also just looked insanely pretty so I loved it lol

it's a movie about a quiet man's life. The lack of conflict is due to his nature. a random conflict wouldn't suit the film at all and would feel out of place
