This is actually a good conversation for several reasons. Alot of us who grew up in impoverished communities and/or had low income families have similar struggles with school and even having dreams period. Those problems she speaks of are real obstacles on why it appears many don’t even try let alone succeed. This is why most ppl in poverty never rise out of it long term.

I have a b.s. in merchandising. its such a vague degree.it can expose you to a lot. however, there's not a lot of opportunity in actual fashion. if I would have known I would've majored in supply chain, product management, and or finance, and minor in merchandising.
