Viz literally waited over 20 years to license the rest of Ai Yazawa's series. Did I read these scanlated 20 years ago? Yes. Did I buy the English releases? Also, yes. Also most of these US publishers pay a lump sum for the distribution rights, so their post isn't even fully accurate.

As an elder millennial, most of the stuff that I have watched read. And seen from my childhood is not in print at all. I cannot get it back. It has been bought by many different companies. And I have no idea if I'll ever see it again. Literally, I have to find it like it's like it's Treasure Island so I have to do it illegally. I have to download it illegally from torrents, which horrific or by the dvds. If dvds even exist for meaning I have to switch over to VHS They need to be so so real.

Exactly. I'd gladly pay to consume. But when there's no official way to consume, i can't. I pirate because there's no way to watch the Anime i want to watch. Or sometimes there is, but only parts of it, and it's imported Blu-ray wich cost like 60 USD for a small batch of episodes out of a show with houndreds of Episodes. And even then it's incomplete. So like, even if i could afford the literall houndreds of dollars for a partial DBZ collection, i still won't get all of it. I've bought imports of shorter series after pirated them. That's money they'd never see without Piracy.
