It has nothing to do with the fact she’s black. The album is not country, THAT is why there’s an issue. I love Beyonce, hell, my mom named me after Destiny’s Child. But you cannot say someone is country just because they’re from Texas (I’m from Texas so I know what I’m talking about) or because they’re say the song/album is country. Beyoncé isn’t country and she’s not a country artist, just like Morgan isn’t a country artist (no matter how many times he tries to say he is). There’s plenty of AMAZING black country artists (black people basically invented country!) like Darius Rucker! Everyone LOVES Darius Rucker! Or Linda Martell! Charley Pride, Jimmie Allen (Best Shot is one of his most well known songs. Loved it when I was an early teen), (Kane Brown goes HEAVY into the country POP, but not country itself), Mickey Guyton is another good one. Some of these artists are more country pop but that’s still a subgenre of country. But unfortunately- Beyoncé doesn’t belong to any sub genre of country. She’s just not country period.

Bc it was a terrible album and 100% should not have won best country album, when there are so many REAL and BETTER country artists 🙄
