You may want to leave the dosage out in room temperature for about 30 minutes before injecting. Also you may want to try NUMSTAT Antiseptic Numbing Wipes for Needle Pain Relief. Bought this from Amazon.

first time actually stung for 29 hours. second dose didn't 15units bac first super slow inject. stung lightly till next dose. id say was 50% better but still slight sting and definitely did turn red
