Hairstylist here! Not all “keratin” shampoos will do this. But there are definitely some that have traces of the chemicals that relax the hair when doing a keratin treatment! Sadly a lot of brands don’t properly label them. So if you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for you’d think it was just a shampoo.

For everyone who’s confused, you hair is made of keratin, a protein. You hair needs a balance of protein and moisture, so overloading it with either can cause your hair to look bad or flat and greasy. The simple fix is if it’s overloaded with protein, use something moisturizing, or vice versa
