Thank you for your words. But, I don’t feel like it was easier for my spouse to cheat. He had to do a lot of work to make arrangements and come up with a cover story, making sure I was distracted…. I still struggle with the why question. It’s been a while now since I found out and left him. I don’t think I’ll ever know the real answer.

I am on what feels like the right path to finding the causes for my infidelity, it’s been 6 months since I’ve had to face the VERY poor choices I’ve made and the pain they’ve inflicted on others. I have days where I feel immense remorse and other days where I feel like I am capable of giving myself grace. What I’ve done is a result of my avoidance, trauma, and fear of abandonment. I grieve my own loss of a moral compass and my partner, while struggling in their own right, has shown immense courage and compassion to even attempt to heal with me when none of what I did was a result of her, or her not doing or being enough, I was morally bankrupt, and accountability is the currency to rebuild that again for me
