Genuine question from a newish Christian reading the Bible …. What about these verses? “Speak up for those who have no voice, for the justice of all who are dispossessed.” Proverbs 31 : 8 HCSB “Learn to do what is good. Seek justice. Correct the oppressor. Defend the rights of the fatherless. Plead the widow’s cause.” Isaiah 1 : 17 HCSB “‘The one who denies justice to a foreigner, a fatherless child, or a widow is cursed.’ And all the people will say, ‘Amen! ’” Deuteronomy 27 : 19 HCSB Fyi, I also believe in the verses to follow the laws of the land etc. I try not to cherry pick to fit my narrative either. But I’m struggling in this time to know what is right. Thoughts?
