That is one of the ideas behind the five-day games, now in their second year: putting humanoid robots through sports and other challenges that test the same abilities they would eventually need in factories, homes and other real-world scenarios. The competition is taking place at Beijing’s National Speed Skating Oval, built for the 2022 Winter Olympics, in the same week as the 2026 World Robot Conference, where companies showcased around 3,000 products, including humanoid robots.
