i'll die if i trust my thoughts above the Word of God. i mean that literally. i've been in situations where my thinking told me one thing and scripture said another. every time i followed my thinking, i ended up deeper in the problem and further from the solution. because my thoughts are shaped by my past, by trauma i haven't fully dealt with, by patterns that were wired into me before i even knew God existed. my instincts were built in survival mode, and survival mode doesn't know how to live in peace. it just knows how to fight. so when i'm anxious, my thinking escalates it. when i'm angry, my thinking justifies it. when i'm hurt, my thinking starts building walls. and without the Word to interrupt that, i follow it all the way to the end. every single time. that's why i can't afford to skip the Word. not as a discipline, but as survival. because my thoughts will lie to me and make it sound like the truth, and they'll sound exactly like me, and i'll believe them. Proverbs 3:5 says,
