The problem is we don’t exist in an environment where it’s safe for men to make any assumptions or judgment calls when it comes to women. Which is part of reading hints/social ques. That and women have “he should just know” syndrome which is just code for “Im horrified of rejection”

Most guys get the hints, they just either think you're lying and don't trust you, or they think it's just you being friendly and they don't want to jump to any wrong conclusions

the other thing with "hints" is that because theyre unclear most guys have been burned thinking they saw a "hint" that wasn't real. so future "hints" get ignored

there's also a deeper context that women are trained to be nice to men to not aggravate them thus escaping potential assault. The man vs bear conversation fully proves that women see men as inherently and irredeemably dangerous. So when you're "sending signals", we're writing it off as ingenuine as yall are trained from brith to lie to us for safety.

No, we can’t take hints and we don’t pick up on subtle flirting. Add that to the fact that these days a mistake can be absolutely catastrophic for a man and you have a perfect formula for men not approaching women. Why would a man risk his livelihood because he thinks she might be flirting? The downside is just too much for the gamble.
