@dr.garthdavis08: The ileal break is an interesting phenomenon. Experiments were done by placing tubes in people's noses and dripping different macronutrients into the distal bowel. This caused a release of GLP1 and resulted in fullness. We see a similar response when we do a bypass surgery. By directing food to the lower part of the small intestine we get a GLP 1 response. The problem with our modern diet is the food is so ultra process that it gets absorbed in the upper small intestine and never quite makes it to the cells that secrete GLP1. One way to naturally get a GLP one response is by eatingdark green vegetables. The chloroplasts in the green vegetables have a chemical called thylakoids that block the enzyme lipase, which breaks down fat. So if you combine health fats with greens the fat is more likely to get to the incretin cells and release GLP1. in my SatietyNow meal replacement shake, we have ground spinach with nuts and flaxseed. This should allow stimulation of the incretin cells as the mono and poly unsaturated fats get to the lower intestine. #Usa
