Early Christian did believe in the trinity, the terminology just wasn’t invented until the 4th century. Before AD 200, we already see unmistakable Trinitarian belief: • Ignatius of Antioch (c. AD 107) Calls Jesus “our God” while maintaining the Father’s primacy — impossible under strict Unitarianism. • Justin Martyr (c. AD 150) Speaks of the Son as distinct from the Father yet worthy of worship, and of the Spirit as divine — tri-personal theology in embryonic form. • Irenaeus of Lyons (c. AD 180) Describes the Son and Spirit as the “two hands of God” in creation and salvation — unity of essence, distinction of persons.

Currently going through Hanson's book. It's a wild stance they take with the overwhelming evidence against it. One Orthodox guy we were speaking to on a live one day actually stated that Christianity did not even begin until the councils in the 4th century. That was his framework of what "historic Christianity" was so that he could alleviate the tension of contracting history. It's unreal

Social media should not be a place to debate over these issues 1. Division. 2. Stumbling block 3. Entertaining atheists.

the Trinity is a metaphor. you don't need to use the Trinity to know that is God the God the and God The Holy Spirit and are all YHWH

If the trinity was taught in bible times yoi would be able to just read the bible in a sermon and people would conclude a trinity. you would not need all these "theologians/scholars" to explain it. to understand a trinity you need to go outside the bible

Mathtew 7:22-23 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

1 John 5:6-8 KJV This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. [7] For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. [8] And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. You cannot ignore the Bible

Jesus never said that he is God or son of God: John 17:3 states that "this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have SENT.

It’s patently false and therefore deceptive to say modern scholarship says the doctrine of the Trinity is a 4th century invention.

True totally agree as Christian’s are following Pauls bible not the Jesus bible. Even early Christian’s like below didn’t believe in trinity. And didn’t know what trinity was. 1. Ignatius of Antioch (c. 107 AD) Ignatius does at times call Jesus “our God,” but this does not equal Nicene Trinitarianism. • He never articulates one essence in three co-equal, co-eternal persons. • He consistently affirms the Father as supreme and the source of authority. • His language fits well within agency and exaltation models common in early Christianity, not a fully developed Trinity. Many scholars note Ignatius’ language is devotional and rhetorical, not metaphysical. Calling Jesus “God” in this period does not imply later ontological definitions. 2. Justin Martyr (c. 150 AD) Justin explicitly teaches subordinationism, which the Nicene Creed later rejects. • He says the Son is second in rank, generated by the Father, and numerically distinct. • He even compares the Son to a derived fire from a source fire — clearly not “same essence.” • This view was condemned after Nicaea, meaning Justin cannot be Nicene-Trinitarian by definition. Justin’s theology actually aligns more closely with Logos theology that later produced Arianism, not orthodoxy. 3. Irenaeus of Lyons (c. 180 AD) The metaphor “two hands of God” is poetic, not a metaphysical definition of Trinity. • Irenaeus never defines ousia, hypostasis, or co-equality. • His primary concern was opposing Gnosticism, not articulating Trinitarian ontology. • He still speaks of the Father as the one God above all. Using metaphors ≠ defining doctrine.

Ecumenical councils were called only when there has been spreading some heresy, in this case Arianism. Now, the whole Church gathered, from over the Roman Empire, and yet just agreed on the Trinity

Habibi, historically some evidences outside the Bible where early christians believed that JESUS IS GOD😁 Pliny the Younger (61-112AD), the governor of Bithynia (AD 112) and a Roman senator, heard that some christians meeting on a certain day before dawn, when they sang in a verse a hymn to Christ as God. What about Megiddo mosaic, 230 AD, The Greek text explicitly mentions "God Jesus Christ" . "ΑΚΕΠΤΟΥΣ ΘΕΟΦΙΛΕΣ ΤΡΑΠΕΖΑΝ ΠΡΟΣΕΦΕΡΕ ΘΕΩ ΙΗΣΟΥ ΧΡΙΣΤΩ ΜΝΗΜΗΣ ΧΑΡΙΝ" — Akeptous the god-loving has offered the table to God Jesus Christ as a memorial. Habibi, the word trinity was not yet used by the early Christians, but they firmly believed in JESUS that HE WAS TRULY GOD😁😁😁

Christianity has many internal fault lines, but the core issues where it remains stuck are these two The Church faces two core issues: 1️⃣ Where is the original Bible? 2️⃣ Its chain ⛓️‍💥 of authority ultimately rests on Paul ...yet Paul never met Jesus. The only direct historical link to Jesus himself was the Jerusalem group...Peter, James, and the early disciples ... a temple-based, Torah-observant community but this group follows Jesus not Paul, keep koshar, Sabbath, mosaic law, no trinity, no church, no Sunday mass, no salvation via grace only.. @journeyer:Christianity has many internal fault lines, but the core issues where it remains stuck are two: 1..There is no original Bible in the original language available today ... only copies, translations, and later compilations. 2..The Church’s claim of authority rests on a chain that runs largely through Paul, yet Paul never met Jesus during his lifetime.
