@socialcap: Medicare is complex and absurd with how many “parts” there are but w the right planning now, can cover it in as tax advantaged a way as possible. #money #wealth #finance #tyler

Any suggestions for insurance before we’re 65? We don’t want to burn through our HSA funds. We could retire now if we could find “affordable” health insurance. Anyone?

HSA requires high deductible plan. If anyone in family has health issues that doesn’t work well.

My employments HSA plan forces you to withdraw everything by the end of each year - it does not carry over

At 62, before Medicare kicks in, do what I did - find a direct to primary Dr (I pay 85$ a month (Vegas) that will take care of Dr visits, prescriptions, tele heath etc then, if you want a safety net get a Healthshare. I chose Zion Health. We pay 487 a month for 2 people. Done

Please remember to include that you only have access to an HSA if you enroll in a high deductible healthcare plan. Not everyone has access to an HSA based on the plan they take from their company. There are trade offs that don’t get talked about. I feel “financial planners” forget this often and make it seem that everyone can be doing this.

do you think it would be more advantageous to start working less/part time 2 years prior to signing up for Medicare so IRMA doesn't affect you?
