This may be dating me because so much is done digitally and with QR codes these days 🫣 BUT if you are sending out physical invites with rsvp cards, put a small, discreet number on the back corner of each rsvp card. Those numbers correlate with your guest list (ie Mr. and Mrs. Smith have rsvp card #26). This way, if you get one that is not filled out, you know who sent it. This saved me when planning my wedding. Someone sent the rsvp card blank, but I had the number on the back and was able to reach out to the party directly.

Yes to the food! A huge portion of our budget was our meal and we actually got to eat and enjoy but I only got one passed app 🥺 highly recommend making a priority to eat!

My photographer was the 2nd less expensive part of of my wedding but she was absolutely amazing and caught every moment that meant so much and I didn’t see…she was amazing

I can’t stress the photographer… We didn’t and had a friend of a family member do it. We literally have maybe 5 photos that we got of us. The others were “lost” because their computer “crashed.” Most of the photos we did get were of family members at our wedding… Which is great, but we have none of us 🤷🏼♀️We also weren’t a fan of his editing and begged him not to edit it them & he did it anyway

I have never been married but I have planned and worked a lot of events in f different kinds. Remember NOBODY know what was planned or how it was supposed to go. When things don’t go as planned nobody will know but you and the people closest to you. Relax and stop worrying about it 🥰🥰

My SIL came to me with a plate of everything (we had buffet style) and said: EAT!! And I ate a little bit only thanks to her.

We lost the video of our wedding. 😭 We loaned it to someone (I'm guessing you can guess who, lol) and they never returned and said they couldn't find it. I hope it turns up one day down the road. I wish I could show it to our sons and watch it again ourselves. 😭😢💔

My mom asked her most responsible friends and relatives to each be responsible for retrieving one keepsake each-toasting goblets, cake knife, cake topper etc. No one was overwhelmed and we got all of our keepsakes.

We had us, our parents and our wedding party go an hour early to eat so we had time to be there eat and get set up before they let anyone else in. It was nice to have that time.

I agree with the photographer comment.. I did not spend the money, and I regret it SO much, my pictures were HORRIBLE!

Food for me also priority. Had donuts in the morning, planned who was getting us nuggets for lunch, and we all got to sit down for dinner. Also, we ignored any attempts at interrupting our eating or conversations when ppl tried to clink to get us to kiss.

Definitely a photographer! My FIL wanted to take the pictures. He’s usually a good photographer. I don’t know why I agreed or thought it was a good idea because we did not have a good relationship. We barely have any pictures. I absolutely hate our wedding pictures. We all met up at my parents house before the wedding, which was at my house and we took wedding pictures. Once we were done. Everybody went to my house and then I drove with my sister my dad and my niece to my house, what I didn’t know at the time. Until I got our wedding pictures back is that my mother-in-law, father-in-law brother-in-law and his girlfriend at the time now sister-in-law took a bunch of pictures under our arch and the aisle. They never once offered to help basically made their own photo shoot there’s probably more pictures of them then us at our own wedding 😭 my other FIL (husbands bio dad) I took a bunch of pictures and videos with his cell phone thank god! Those are actually the only good ones we have. Later on found out that my MIL had a full-blown meltdown the morning of our wedding because she didn’t wanna come according to her we were not having a real wedding. 🤦🏼♀️she also showed up wearing white jeans and a red blouse probably said about five words to me the whole day.

Our wedding went really well but we failed to arrange any transportation to get us home afterwards. Sitting on the steps of our venue together, after everyone had left, was actually really special. Sometimes the c*ck ups can be the sweetest moments.

I remember the food & cake. I know how important food is, from when I couldn’t eat, so it was important for us. I spent $$ of food & photography.

I completely agree about the photographer and the videographer! Even as someone who got divorced, I am so glad I have the amazing photos of my grandparents and others who are so important to me and are no longer with us
