@longterm_traveler: 📍Mides, Tunisia Mides is a small mountain oasis village tucked away in southwestern Tunisia, near the Algerian border. About 60 km from Tozeur and just north of the oasis town of Tamaqzah, it’s surrounded by rugged desert landscapes that feel completely untouched. Mides Canyon might not strike you as overwhelmingly grand at first—but its quiet, understated beauty slowly draws you in. From the edge, you can look down at layered rock walls plunging into a dry riverbed, with the abandoned old village clinging to the rim (you’ll see it at the end of the video). The scene is raw, peaceful, and a little haunting—a place that stays with you long after you leave. For a meal, we stopped at Mides Family Restaurant in town.
