No. It was becouse in cccp era there was like 4,5 colors only to choos from. This green, dirty yellow, dark brwny, white 😅. No1 cared about colors especaly oaint factories. Now with new twchnologies there are many colors and diferent type of paints.

It was the super paint basically, it was anti corrosion, heat resistant and my grandpa said it can even disturb radio signal if applied on radio towers and I love how smooth and shiny they are on the walls

Not in the USSR but this does remind me of my parents door! It was green all my life but the landlords painted it grey recently and despite the wear and tear from my childhood til now, where the grey scraped off from wear and tear within the few years, the green still remains strong!

it was also found that green paint has a calming effect on the brain (think parks and green space) and thats another reason why there were used. Also in poland cabs of train locomotives were painted green for the same reasons.
