The low-stimulation framing is so validating—adding one tiny bit of novelty or reward feels more doable than trying to force motivation.

No one around me understands this. Even if I were to somehow fall asleep at 9pm and wake up at 7am I would physically feel pain in my head 😭

It is 100% the micro decisions. They are overwhelming and make me get stuck.

If I don’t have my entire outfit laid out the night before, that next morning will be chaotic and I will most definitely be even later for work than I always am. 🤷🏽♀️

All of this. I hate feeling like I’ve wasted half the day while everyone else is being super productive and putting new to shame 😢

I've found dedicating 2 hrs to fall asleep and a minimum of 1 hrs after waking up to slowly feel awake, is the only way to meet the daily expectation. 1st hour in the morning is solely for wakeup rituals like coffee and news. The next 30 mins are for eating, the last 1hr and 30 mins are for dress and commute. 3 hrs are rragrdless of the time. No 3 hrs? *delete expectation*

I took a trip to Hawaii last summer. I had never felt more in sync with a time zone. Too bad I could never afford to live there 😭

Love these!! One helpful idea that I love is to check in with yourself to see what your energy and focus level is each morning, and adapt accordingly. Instead of forcing yourself to stick with a pre-made plan, adapting to your brain can be a game changer.

i've been wondering if i should start weaponizing this against myself by flipping my sleep routine. like, instead of going to bed at midnight and waking up at 7am for work, maybe i should try going to sleep at like 5pm and then waking up at like 3am or something so that i give myself like 4 hours to prepare myself for work 😭 i'd be properly awake and more mentally prepared that way instead of being tired halfway through my work day

That's why I shower & lay clothes out at night, so I can sleep to the absolute last second. And eat at work, no extra bags, no forgotten moldy lunches or lost silverware. Just brushing my teeth and dressing is hard enough.

I’m having trouble connecting with this. As someone with ADHD I happen to be a huge morning person as long as when I wake up I get right into a morning routine. If I don’t then I am in freeze mode until I “force” myself out of it. But I need my routines to function so idk? Just me?

Oh wow. That’s wild because I literally was taking note the other day that it usually takes me about two hours from the time I wake up to start getting into the groove of things. I literally have like two or 3 cups of coffee before I can literally do even anything. God forbid I don’t have those cups of coffee and have to start my day going from zero mph to 100 mph, beware to those who I encounter before I obtain said cups of coffee lol
