@womencoded1: I once told my friend to be intentional with men and use her relationships to level up. She laughed and called me materialistic. But here’s the irony: Her boyfriend wants this “materialistic.” girl. Men don’t dislike women who want more they dislike women who don’t know how to ask for it properly. What changed for me wasn’t men. It was how I showed up. Here are five things I changed that made men start doing more for me naturally. 1. I stopped leading with emotions and started leading with standards. I stopped bonding first and deciding later. Before feelings, I focused on values, effort, and consistency. If a man couldn’t meet my basic expectations early on, I didn’t sit down there and keep negotiating with emotions. 2. I became clear instead of hoping men would “just know.” I stopped assuming effort would come automatically or he will automatically read my mind and know what I want 😂 I communicated what I value , from time, consistency, generosity, respect everything. Clarity removes confusion and filters unserious men quickly. 3. I stopped giving too much too early. I no longer over invested before commitment. Access, emotional labor, and availability became earned not free. Men respect what they work for , not what is handed to them for free. 4. I learned how to receive without guilt. I stopped proving I was “low maintenance.” I allowed effort, support, and generosity without rushing to compensate. Receiving is not entitlement it is balance. 5. I stopped apologizing for wanting more. I accepted that wanting stability, growth, and comfort doesn’t make me greedy. It makes me intentional.
