Polda Metro Jaya (PMJ) melalui Satgas Pemburu Begal menangkap 173 tersangka dari 870 kasus kejahatan jalanan. Para tersangka kini diancam pidana penjara 7 hingga 15 tahun. Dirreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Iman Imanuddin mengatakan para tersangka yang ditangkap kini dalam proses penyidikan. Polisi menerapkan Pasal 476 hingga Pasal 306 KUHP UU Nomor 1 Tahun 2026.

Dirreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Iman Imanuddin mengatakan para tersangka yang ditangkap kini dalam proses penyidikan. Polisi menerapkan Pasal 476 hingga Pasal 306 KUHP UU Nomor 1 Tahun 2026. "Kemudian Pasal 477 dengan ancaman pidana 7 tahun penjara, Pasal 479 dengan ancaman pidana 9 tahun penjara, dan Pasal 306 KUHPidana dengan ancaman pidana 15 tahun penjara. Kami pastikan bahwa seluruh proses hukum yang berjalan secara profesional, transparan, dan akuntabel," kata Iman dalam jumpa pers di Mapolda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, Jumat (22/5/2026). Iman mengatakan selama periode Mei 2026, polisi mencatat 1.283 laporan kejahatan jalanan. Rinciannya, pencurian dengan pemberatan (curat) 651 kasus, pencurian biasa 396 laporan, pencurian kendaraan bermotor 209 laporan, dan pencurian dengan kekerasan 27 laporan. "Dari total laporan tersebut, kami telah berhasil mengungkap sejumlah 870 TKP yang terjadi di wilayah hukum Polda Metro Jaya," kata Iman. Iman menuturkan Tim Pemburu Begal masih terus bekerja melakukan pengungkapan terhadap kasus-kasus yang masih belum terungkap. Dia menyebut masih 413 perkara yang sedang diselesaikan.
