🤔 Would you expect an engine management light to be caused by something as simple as this? This BMW came into the workshop with the engine management light illuminated, and naturally the owner was expecting the worst. After carrying out our initial diagnostics, we discovered the vehicle had previously been remapped. Because of this, it’s likely the normal AdBlue warning wasn’t being displayed correctly, allowing the AdBlue level to become critically low before the engine management light appeared. Before jumping to conclusions, Alex carried out a series of checks to make sure there wasn’t a fault with the AdBlue system itself. We verified that the level sensor was operating correctly and that there were no issues with the tank or its components. Thankfully, the fix was far simpler than expected… ✅ A top-up of the AdBlue system. We also showed the customer how to manually monitor the AdBlue level through the BMW iDrive system, so they can keep an eye on it in the future, especially if the vehicle doesn’t display the usual warning messages.
