My love for this version left me deep in my hatred for FMAB 😭 I just… couldn’t like it. It wasn’t as special to me. The fact that the writers chose to skip over most of the beginning stuff because they felt the fans wouldn’t appreciate seeing it reanimated again I actually feel is a huge detriment and the biggest reason why I couldn’t get into brotherhood. It felt insulting to skip all of that. It was my favorite part. That first season is one of my favorite of all anime. The first time we see him transform his arm and he says, “I don’t get my skills from a pocket watch!” ICONIC 😭 I loved Edward in that scene so much, I did a drawing of him for my college portfolio. 🥹❤️

I grew up with 03, I watched it before brotherhood and when I went to watch brotherhood I thought it would just be a remake with better animation. When I realized the story was different I was confused. I really do love both but 03 just has a special place in my heart.
