@longislandspotter: MD-11 Tribute Edit UPS announced they will be retiring the MD-11 on January 27, 2026 following the tragic crash in Louisville, Kentucky. Other MD-11 operators such as FedEx and Western Global plan to return them to service. The MD-11, a derivative of the DC-10, was introduced in 1990 as a long range wide body aircraft.
