@abc7chicago: Two masked men armed with a sledgehammer smashed through the window of a west London jewelry store in broad daylight on Saturday morning, January 31, and grabbed multiple items from a display window before fleeing on foot. Dramatic footage captured by Amy Hilton opposite the Gregory & Co jewelry shop in Richmond shows one of the two suspects repeatedly hitting one of the shop’s windows with a sledgehammer, while the other suspect waits by his side holding an empty Ikea bag. The two then start throwing the jewelry displayed in the shop’s window into the bag, as one of the workers inside the shop tries to stop them. The pair then run away down the street. Hilton told Storyful that she was having coffee with her boyfriend in a cafe opposite the jewelry store when she witnessed the robbery. The Metropolitan Police said they were investigating the “aggravated burglary” and urged witnesses to contact them, according to local reports.
