@melrobbins: Laura Vanderkam is one of the world’s leading experts on time management. She’s a New York Times bestselling author, a researcher who’s studied thousands of real people’s time logs, and someone who deeply understands what it feels like to be stretched thin. In this moment from The Mel Robbins Podcast, Laura shares one of the most important mindset shifts she’s seen change people’s lives - especially if you feel like your time is no longer your own. When you step back and look at the full 168 hours you have in your week, something softens. Not because everything suddenly becomes “free,” but because you can finally see where small pockets of choice still exist. This episode isn’t about doing more. It’s about seeing your life more clearly - and feeling a little less trapped inside it. 🎧 “How to Take Control of Your Time: 9 Proven Strategies That Work (Even When You Have No Time)” Listen now on Spotify or Apple Podcasts - search ‘The Mel Robbins Podcast Take Control Of Your Time’
Add 2 hours everyday travel. You work 9 hours because most dont get paid for lunch. So 2x5= 10 thec1 hour lunch 5. 72-15, so more like 57. they the hour preparing for work. 57-5=52. So many things she is not deducting.

It sounds like a lot but you forgot commuting to and from work, getting ready for work, unwinding from work and basic needs like eating and bathing. Still you could find 2 hours a week for a hobby if you commit

False it takes an hour to get ready for work and takes nearly an hour in traffic to drive each way so that’s three hours a day times 72-21. And a half hour in the morning and a half hour at night walking the dog subtract another hour if you have kids, you might as well forget all of your time. 72-28 is 6.28 hours per day divided by seven days but don’t forget that’s not accurate because on Saturdays and Sundays if you’re off you’re running errands and doing other things most of the day.

It’s not about squeezing more in… it’s about finally seeing where you still have a choice. That perspective alone feels freeing. ⏳✨

Thank you for drawing our attention to the time we have. Looking at the hours seems alot but when we are in motion we realize there's no time at all. Anyways, we will now plan well and prioritize accordingly.

I really like this way of thinking about it. Ive been thinking I don’t have time for anything. I’ve been working 50 hours a week. And trying to rest/sleep 8.5 hours give or take. I still have 58 hours leftover for everything else! That’s not bad

watched this twice and saved it because I know I’ll need to come back when my motivation disappears again. It feels comforting knowing someone else understands this phase.

72 hrs is not a lot when you’ve got busy kids, cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning. I think ppl put to much pressure on themselves to “do” things.
