@anthonyvecchiolaw: Careless driving in New Jersey isn’t just a small ticket — it’s a moving violation that can carry fines, points, and insurance consequences. Police often charge NJSA 39:4-97 as a catch-all offense, but the law actually requires a likelihood of endangering people or property. An accident alone does NOT automatically prove careless driving. If you’ve been charged, don’t assume you’re guilty just because a ticket was issued. Anthony J. Vecchio, Esq. ONPY :
What could I do if I payed my ticket and it’s my first offense & I wasn’t endangering nobody or damaging anyone’s property. I was going 60mph from a 45mph zone at 10:20 PM.
